'Kusumal' sari in purple Varanasi silk brocade features an all over placement of butis that take their form from the peacock. The motifs are woven in the elaborate Kadwa technique, where each motif is woven individually utilizing an extra weft insertion, and the reverse of the textile reveals the absence of thread floats. The wide border is woven with silver and gold zari in equal part, speaking to the Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb of the Awadh. The sari is finished with facing.
This handwoven textile reflects natural variations within yarn, color, weave and/or embroidery.
Blouse is not included.

Dry Clean only. Store garment in a muslin cloth away from sunlight in a dry environment. Air the textile every few months.
