'Riaz’ blue Varanasi silk brocade odhani is inspired by 18th century ‘Moon Shawls’ or ‘Chand-dars’. It features a round medallion or 'moon' in the centre, and tiny ‘ambi’ or paisley butis, woven all-over using the elaborate 'Kadwa' technique, wherein each motif is woven separately.
