NEVARI
'Newari' jamuni purple sari in Varanasi silk brocade echoes the Islamic Ojee architectural patterns punctuated by Kunjam motifs of floral tassels, it features gold zari with silver meena work. The brocade is woven through the Phekwa technique wherein the weft remains embedded in the warp, interlaced from selvedge to selvedge, creating surface textures of the base or zamin.
Blouse worn by the model is not included.
Natural variations in colours and weave are part of the textile, as it is handwoven.
