'Miyala' natural Varanasi silk brocade sari features motifs that draw from the stripes of the Bengal Tiger and a heavy palla.
Blouse worn by the model is not included. Natural variations in colours and weave are part of the textile, as it is handwoven.
BENGAL TIGER (Panthera tigris tigris)
It is estimated that there are less than 3,000 Bengal tigers left in the wild. They usually hunt at dusk and dawn, and their stripes help conceal them in the shadows of tall grasses. They stalk and pounce because they are not able to chase prey a long distance and can consume as much as 40 kg (88 lbs.) of meat in one feeding.
