'Jana' charcoal Mashru dress with a lightly gathered yolk, features black woven ‘Ashrafi’ motifs, also known as ‘Rudraksha’ in parts of South India. These round dots have remained eternal in textile history - from the butis in the saris of Raja Ravi Varma's paintings to modern renditions of polka dots.

Mashru textile is composed of a silk warp and a cotton weft. It is a warp faced satin, woven on a narrow 28” width loom, resulting in a smooth silk surface with a soft cotton backing. It is loved and recognized for its possibilities, sumptuous tactility and outwardly lustre.
